What is Scouting?

Scouting is a worldwide youth movement employing the scouting method - a program of informal education with an emphasis on outdoor activity including camping, woodworking, backpacking, and open-fire cooking, among many other skills.

Scouting has come from a long history of dedicated adults helping youth achieve life goals. Millions of youth have come through scouting worldwide learning life skills and developing character and values true to the scouting mission.

Scouting is now includes the opportunity to reach more youth with including the entire family in cub scouting, offering scout troops for girls and building future leadership through the Venture, Sea Scouts and Explorers programs.
